Himalayan salt is rich in minerals and trace elements that are beneficial for the skin. The salt is suitable for baths or nasal irrigation (nasal douche or jala nieti).
The aim of rinsing the nasal cavity with lukewarm salt water is primarily to moisten the nasal cavity. It is suitable as part of routine hygiene, as well as for chronic inflammation of the nasal cavity, arising from various causes, including allergies. It is possible to use a physiological concentration of the solution with some properties identical to those of blood plasma. This is a 0.9% solution, i.e. 0.9 g of salt per 100 g of water. However, a higher concentration can also be used, which also has a higher effect. The use has its roots in Ayurvedic medicine.
Recommended use: 50 g of salt per 100 l of bath. 0.5 - 1 teaspoon in boiled lukewarm water for a neti pot.
